When my coach and best friend, Kevin and I first started shooting for the rim, it was trial and error. I had to learn how to bite at the ball and jump like a frog at the same time in order to get the basketball up to 10ft. It took me 6 months and nearly 4,000 attempts before I sank my first basket. That was on March 21, 1990, a day that I will never forget.
Once I developed a proper shooting technique (as shown in this photo) the rest came easy. I am proof positive that you can accomplish anything in life if you set your mind to it. All you have to remember are 3 words and you can accomplish anything in life. The 3 words are "DON'T GIVE UP." Whatever you want to do in life is possible as long as you try your hardest and simply don't give up.

Just remember how long I stood underneath the basket and how many attempts I made before I became successful at shooting baskets. If you remember that, the rest will come easy, I promise. |

This is one of my favorite sports photos. It was taken at Anaheim Stadium at an NFL game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. If you look closely, you can see me on the big screen TV at the top of the stadium. In January of 1994, the big LA earthquake destroyed that big screen TV and the following year, the Rams moved to Saint Louis.
